Love Story

So....real life love stories are SO much better than fictional ones.

Case in point:
www.thepioneerwoman.com

Check out her "Black Heels..." story. WOW. I'm not quite done it yet- but holy smokes. I'm in love with her love story. And Malboro Man? I WANT ONE OF THOSE. I didn't know those kind existed.

Apparently they do.

Also, I had another random thought. I think- if I lived in the middle of nowhere- with no one around- I'd mow my lawn in my underwear too (this makes more sense if you read the whole damn love story noted above). It could be like the Garden of Eden all over again. Except I would behead any snake that came in my vicintity.

Why did I just say that?

Because I have ONE reader....and she can handle it. LOL

LOVE YOU READER! YOU ARE THE BOMB.

My love and I

I am not going to lie.

Dancing with C in his living room has been the highlight of my month (excluding visiting the King in His little audience-of-one room). I don’t suppose it really mattered who I was dancing with….it was just WHAT I was doing- and doing it with SOMEONE (Yes, I’m still in denial Kelsey- if there is anything to deny???). No- that’s not true. It was special because I was dancing with a friend. A random stranger would not have had the same effect.

Every single day I wish I could be back in that living room dancing the night away. To float around in someone’s arms to the beat of my favorite music. This is bliss.

My idea of a perfect date: dancing under the stars in the park or on the beach.

I love dancing.

Laurissa’s TOP Loves:
1. My faith
2. My family and friends
3. Music and ballroom dancing
4. Black and white and teal
5. Red Rio Grapefruit juice
6. George Clooney and Elvis

Seriously.

Does it matter that I lack the necessary graces to be an amazing dancer? No. What matters is that I love dancing. If you can make me feel like a princess while we’re dancing- then I love you. Figuratively speaking.

Here’s to Friday, nice November weather, chocolate covered almonds, getting off work early to go to the Dane Cook comedy show, ballroom dancing, and Owl City.

Black and White

I have this thing for black and white.

You may have noticed.

Growing up I loved bright colours- and lots of them...together. Case in point: my room walls were bright yellow and my comforter was bright orange.

But in the last couple of years I have discovered my passionate love for anything black and white. Preferably with a dash of teal. My room now is an oasis of black and white, silver and teal. I love it. My favorite home accessories- anything black. Kitchen plates- black.

I love bold things...the contrast of the white and black and bold colours just float in my cup of tea.

So today's post is a tribute.

To black and white. And teal!

Just Stop

"I'll stop searching for the answers,
I'll stop praying for and asking,
I'll trust you God with where I am,
and believe that you will have your way..."

"Remind me you take broken things and turn them into beautiful..."

Lyrics from the song "Have Your Way" by Britt Nicole.

I love this song. I listened to it this morning and now this chorus is stuck in my head. Its a good chorus to have stuck in your head (totally beats "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy").

Sometimes I have to be reminded that by begging and begging for something I want/think I need- I miss the point.

Trust in God.

That's when God gives me a good song to remind me.

I have a whole wack load of new CDs to discover and enjoy...this makes me happy.

Maybe He'll tell me some other things through these songs. Especially the songs about cowboys on Carrie Underwood's new CD that I have yet to crack open- lol.

Just kidding.

So today....stop. Stop searching. Stop begging.

Instead...trust.

La Dolce Vita

The sweet life.

I'm living it.

Even though my life is normal, ordinary, with nothing of great news worthiness- I love my life. Because it was given to me- as a gift. From Someone who means everything to me.

Sunrise

This morning I witnessed a beautiful sight. A sunrise that took my breath away. It was like the dawning of a new ice cream flavour. All the creamy, soft, colours melting into each other.

Delightful.

Just thought you should know.
