I hope you have a tool box. A red one…with lots of well-used tools.
Can I help you in the shop? ;)
I hope you have a truck.
I hope you like to fix things.
And please please please….have a motorbike?
But if you don’t, well….I suppose that’s okay too.
I don’t know who you are yet, but I already love you.
I know you are going to be amazing….because damn it, I haven’t waited this long for a slug. God could not be so cruel. So I’m trusting the Good Guy Upstairs...I will wait for you dear future husband…but please….come with a tool box, truck, and motorbike.
Even if you have to borrow them from your buddy for a couple days.
xoxo

Called It
Last week was the week before the storm. This week? The storm.
I'm still alive, and its Thursday, so that's one good thing.
I have all my limbs.
My life is pretty intact per se.
But I definitely have gone through an emotional hurricane this week. I don't like it when my emotions try to rule my world. Those darn things.
Thankfully, God is good and He gives us the strength to fight.
I will survive. I will wake up kicking and screaming. I know that my heart's still beating.
Thank God.

The Calm Before the Storm
This week has been strangely calm….gloriously calm. I had a holiday on Monday in which I spent most of the day flying and eating a delicious burger. (It was a really good burger!). Tuesday and Wednesday I found myself only working ONE job. As much as I love my nannying job, to have two afternoons and evenings off was pure bliss.
I indulged in spending my time casually, with friends, relaxing, and playing with my new buttonberry. Mostly playing with my new buttonberry….all those buttons….they are confusing. Take me away Blackberry Tour…now that I’m getting used to you, I kinda LOVE you. It’s like having a mini computer with internet access attached to my hip. Can I say love at first sight? I can.
On Thursday I was back to both jobs…but it was so chill….I even got off work two hours early. BLISS again! I wasted that time in glory….watching men’s Olympic figure skating. Gee whiz…some of those men were beautiful. And those long long legs….so beautiful. The music! The grace!
I have thoroughly enjoyed this week….especially all the time I spent chatting with friends. My wonderful friends. And music….I have come across an Italian opera song recently…and I’m completely absorbed with it…its glorious.
You know those moments when you feel like you’re standing on a beach with your toes in the warm sand, gazing out over the pristine blue ocean water, witnessing the birth of a brand new sunrise? The colours. The smells. Your breath. Pure bliss.
My week has felt like that….calm…but entirely beautiful.
Sometimes there is a calm before the storm?
I pray it isn’t so….but I won’t let that rain on my sunrise.

Be My Valentine?
So....today is my blind date.
I have snagged a blind date. Me.
Its about time. If those men wait any longer I might start to tarnish...ya know?
Just teasing. I'm starting to get butterflies though....and I'm trying not to think about it....so that I can remain calm, collected, poised, witty, and extremely awesome when the time comes.
I shall consider this my next big adventure. I am Christopher Columbus sailing out to discover America. I will survive and live to tell the story...and if I don't.....well...at least new territory will have been explored.
The poor boy has NO idea what he has gotten himself into. Someone should warn him.

Feline Foes
I’m allergic to cats. Big time.
I thought I was over that…but I underestimated my allergy to cats.
For many years I had an inkling that I could be allergic to them…and rabbits…and horses.
Now I know for sure.
Too bad I think cats are cute. Because I would really like to not see one again for a long time.
As far as I can tell dogs don’t bother me too much yet. I’ve been around one for over 1.5 years and I haven’t ever had this reaction…so I think I’m safe with dogs. Thank God!
But yes, that is my profound reflection for the day. I'm human. And cats can defeat me with nothing more than their dander. So humbling.

Stay
And sometimes to change, you need to stay.
Stay where you are. Remain.
And in this ‘staying’ find new ways to bring adventure and reawaken vibrant life in the already explored.
So while the thought of change plagued my mind last week, I will now endeavor to contemplate the ordinary. And how to rejuvenate.
I think it could be time to paint my fingernails red again.
In a way, I think the real quest for every day life is to treat every day as a new day, a new adventure, a chance to live life anew.
When we get used to the mundane and allow our lives to become stale, that is when unhappiness sets in, discouragement, frustration, envy, distrust, and a whackload of not so hot things.
To live each day with gratitude for being alive. To live each day as an adventure, waiting to be explored. To love like its your last day. To enjoy as if it was your last taste.
This is what it means to ‘remain’.
You don’t need change. You just need a new day.
P.S. 4.5 more days till I get to see some of my favorite people....and 6 more days till my hot date.

Nine
Nine more days till my hot date.
9.
Good things come in 9. Sometimes.
Except for the fact that 9 is one short of 10...and really, better things come in 10. Who wants to read a Top-9 list? The song Ten Little Piggies...who wants to have only 9 toes? You must have 10 toes for the song to work. I don't remember being 9....but I'm sure it was good. I remember getting a walkman on my 10th birthday though. A walkman! I was finally cool. That was also the year that the Discman became cooler. Case in point of my life: I'm a late cool bloomer. I'm always slow at becoming COOL.
But you know what....that's okay.
I got my first cell phone at 20. Most kids had theirs at 17. So what?
I also tried contacts at age 21....evil things.
I finally got rid of my retainers at age 22. Evil things x 100.
22 years later I finally have a prospect of a hot date.
Wait....did I just admit that on public internet access?
Oh well....I'm cool now...so what does that matter?
Nine. Nine is a good number.

26 Hour Days
Today I wish the days were longer. Wouldn't 26 hours be more useful than 24?
For one thing, I could get two more hours of sleep. Or do important stuff for two more hours....like searching the web for places to live. OR...I could read The Inheritance for two more hours. This reading in short snatches of time thing frustrates me. I want to know what happens next, now. I'm sure the ending will be predictable....but I still want to know how they get to that ending.
So yes, wouldn't 26 hours be helpful?
Today I am antsy.
I should just chill.
But its so hard.
But: good news: I have a hot date in 10 days. A hot date. For me. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 Days.

Today's Favorites
What? Two posts? I know...shocking. This was supposed to be yesterdays, but that didn't quite happen.
To move or not to move. That is the question.
The answer eludes me right now.
So in order to distract myself from this weighty question- I would like to make a list of some of my favorite things right now:
1. Tim Tebow of the Florida Gaters. What, you may ask, is a Canadian girl like me doing talking about an American football player? Hello. Cute….and AMAZING?! Not to mention, I have always liked the Florida Gaters because…well….I liked Florida. I would see Gaters flags everywhere. It rubbed off on me. Now, I didn’t remember how much I liked the Florida Gaters….till…well…yesterday. Okay. Fine. It’s a new found like, okay? But seriously…good man. He’s saving himself for marriage. :D http://www.catholic.org/national/national_story.php?id=35301
4. My roommate who keeps me up till the wee morning hours looking at engagement rings and houses with me. Just cause- lol.
5. This book: The Inheritance. http://www.tameraalexander.com/books.html I'm currently enjoying it tremedously. Life is too short to read boring books.

3. Ikea. I want to go to Ikea very badly. Kelsey: you+me+Edmonton+Ikea= glorious roadtrip to find adorable house things. Heck yes. Heck yes.

Long Handles
Names. I love naming things. There is such significance and importance in a name.
I like long handles that are unique, but spellable. Older names that have class, but not so old that my grandparents used them. I love names. Boys:
Liam Nathaniel
Graham Nicholas
Jesse Xavier
Farren Sebastien
(I also admire: Fabian, Reid, Ryan, Damien, Aidan, Adrian)

http://www.urbandictionary.com/ is a very humourous website that tells you all about yourself.
